Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair the "silent shaft bearing housing"?This is a 4d56.
By the way incase your timing belts are breaking without any apparent reason please check this silent shaft. The bearings could be worn and the shaft sticks as it rotates.Hence shearing the teeth on the belt.Another good indicator of this failure is oil pressure light coming on below 1000-2000 rpm.

Re: SILENT SHAFT BEARING HOUSING REPAIR
I know that for a mitsubishi 4g61,4g63,4g64 and other (hyundai,nissan,etc...),there is many elimination kit to remove the silent shaft that are available.
I'm sure that it is possible to do the same thing with the 4d56.
Check this kit, just to give you an idea.
