I think it's called a lid hold open device or something like that if you wanted to search online. Apparently you can special order large ones. If you can't find it I'll try to post pictures when I get access to a computer either today or tomorrow.

I have think I still have the Westy roof (Unless my friend junked it cleaning up the shop) I bought prior to going with the Hitop.

If I still have the roof mechanism it is free to either of you guys if you want it. You will have to cut it down in the middle and re-weld it as the westy roof is 5ish inches wider.

I just did a quick search and came up with this. There are many different styles and you could attach one on each side. I went to Kerrisdale Lumber in Vancouver and they found every kind of system I could possible need, I think any good hardware store could do the same. You can also get ones with little to no resistance so you would just lift the top up with the help of the shocks / struts and then take the hinge and lock it in the extended position so you don't have to worry about the top coming down when it's not supposed to.

was it you i just saw on the sunshine coast? how often could it be that a reimo crosses path with a reimo?
