Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Most likely just the rubber gasket leaking. It's engine oil from your valve cover. Nothing to worry about. If the gasket doesn't seal ( don't over tighten it), you can put a bit of silicone on the gasket.

If ever you have to replace the rubber valve gasket, consider replacing the half moon rubber seal by a metal one at the same time 8-)

Yea mine does the same thing around the filler cap. The taps end up weakening and oil leaks through the seal. Bent the taps and installed a new seal and voila le tour et joue!

The others are most likely correct, but it looks a bit splattery to me- it *might* be the intake manifold gasket leaking a bit.

I'd clean everything up with some grease remover, then watch to see where the oil appears first.

If it is the inlet manifold gasket, you can sometimes cure it by tightening it just a bit.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.
