My trusty old VW Jetta is a 1986 model, registered and licensed accordingly, but was manufactured in October 1985. If you were to privately import one, she would have been eligible in October 2000, despite being a 1986 model.

Actually, on form 1 you use the manufacture date as well as the "model year" and it is here, the model year, where you can put what model the vehicle is for. These vehicles show 1993 here which is why you can register them as such.mdrive wrote:if the mfger declaring as 2008, yes of course. But who we are to declare? On form 1 we all are using first regi date as mfg date even if it is not the production date. so the production date is at least couple months earlier than first regi date.Green1 wrote:so you're telling me they haven't registered a single 2008 vehicle yet? I have a hard time believing that....92 nov means 92 not 93 according to icbc, you can not register it as 93.
Thanks, Laura - it is just that some other dealers and I am not going to name names thought by posting my delicas as 1993 I had an advantage and started this whole episode of what is 93 and what is not. This has happened before where this forum was used to discredit a certain dealer's vehicles and it wasn't for the purpose of sharing information, not at all.marsgal42 wrote:Like all Internet forums, people don't just beat dead horses: they beat the damp spot where the dead horse used to be.
My Delica suits me just fine, but when people ask "Where did you get that? Can I get one?" I appreciate seeing what's out there so I can tell people who to talk to.
Don't let one unfortunate event ruin it for everybody.
