Good news Delicat!

I have almost convinced my wife that this Delica would be a great addition to the family. What that means, if tradition holds, is that you will sell it to someone else any minute now. :-D

Someone (A) wants it.

Someone (A) convinces their significant other it's a worthwhile purchase and significant other agrees.

During the convincing stage, Someone (B) shows up with money and buys it.

Someone (A) after receiving the go ahead finds out it's sold !

That's the 'ol tradition. :-D

^^ Yep that's it exactly. My wife still hasn't recovered from when I imported 3 vehicles on the sly back in 05/06 so unfortunately now the convincing process is a long and grueling one haha.

It's ok Psilosin, just make sure you give me a call minutes "before" convincing her so that I can make sure no one else steals Mitsushi from you! :-D

I believe this "tradition" is a corollary to something known as "Sod's Law". Sod's law is based on an English builder from around the eighteenth century by the name of William Sod. Everything that Sod built fell down. It was uncanny.

This evolved to "Sod's Law": If it can go wrong it will go wrong.
This also became known in the US as Murphy's Law and has developed twelve corollaries over the ages:
  • * O'TOOLE'S COMMENTARY ON MURPHY'S LAW. Murphy was an optimist.

    * THE FIRST COROLLARY TO SOD'S LAW. Anything that is to go wrong will do so at the worst possible moment.

    * THE UNSPEAKABLE LAW. As soon as you mention something, if it's good, it goes away; if it's bad, it happens.

    * NON-RECIPROCAL LAWS OF EXPECTATIONS. Negative expectations yield negative results. Positive expectations yield negative results.

    * HOWE'S LAW. Every man has a scheme which will not work.

    * ZYMURGY'S FIRST LAW OF EVOLVING SYSTEM DYNAMICS. Once you open a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is to use a larger can.

    * SKINNER'S CONSTANT. The quantity which must be multiplied by, divided by, added to or subtracted from the answer you get to give the answer you should have got.

    * LAW OF SELECTIVE GRAVITY. An object will fall so as to do the most damage.

    * JENNING'S COROLLARY. The chance of the bread falling with the buttered side down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.

    * BARTH'S DISTINCTION. There are two types of people: those who divide people into two types and those who do not.

    * NINETY-NINETY RULE OF PROJECT SCHEDULES. The first 90% of the job takes 90% of the time, the last 10% takes the other 90%.

    * FARBER'S RULE. Necessity is the mother of strange bedfellows.

I think that this "tradition" is inspired by "The Unspeakable Law" and "Howe's Law"

Falco.

The process isn't 'long and gruelling' - it's 'involved', as in: she wants to be! :?

Remember the ol' naval adage: it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. Or was it: a good explanation after the fact is better than a fine description before the matter? I always get those two mixed up!

Thats the tactic I used with the last 3 vehicles. Seemed like a good plan at the time... 8-) The look on her face when the Searail truck pulled up to the house with the last one...eeek! (Sorry for the chit-chat...at least it keeps the ad at the top...ok back to the `convincing`...)
