Re: Help! fuel filter installed and my van is barely running

The seal inside the primer pump/housing does commonly go and cause air to be sucked in so it is possible that the mechanic is right. A pump that hasn't been operated for a while is a likely candidate for such an issue. If it is that expect difficulties starting in the morning as the fuel will drain ...

Heater matrix most likely unfortunately. Fair bit of dash removal to get to it if I remember correctly.

Re: tragedy in Montana

Cracked head? Very likely. Need a new engine? Very unlikely. Unless you carried on driving until the whole thing seized solid, then replacing the cylinder head is a simple job for any mechanic and should be all that's required. A high quality (preferably OEM) head gasket is important though.

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!

The fan is attached to the water pump so you wouldn't get an oil leak from there.
What was the condition of your crank pulley? Had the outer an inner parted company? Was that the cause of your rattle? If so it's possible the outer part has rubbed against your timing case and worn a hole in it.....

Tooth out :(

From memory the only hoses of that size on the pump are the turbo to boost enrichment hose and the vacuum idle-up hose. Strangely it looks exactly like the former which you already have....

Re: LED for compass

Compass on the ceiling? On my Super Exceed it's in the dash binnacle. Yes, it has a bulb that you can change, it's mounted in the back in a bulb holder which you undo by turning a quarter turn with a flat screwdriver. The standard bulb has a little green condom on it to give the colour, but you can ...

The massive pool of oil underneath would be the giveaway! If that's the first you've heard of the noise, probably fine  I see you found that other thread while I was typing. Nice one! nope, i quickly cut and pasted your link somewhere in between.. :-D . . . guessing if I should throw in the n...

Re: yikes, engine noise/lights, where do i start? help!

Doesn't look bad from what I can see, bit of scuffing. Also means it wasn't shaving your timing case as long as it was shaving your fan!

Re: yikes, engine noise/lights, where do i start? help!

I'd go with new crank pulley, bolt and belts. Very unlikely that you'll need an alternator, as you said it wouldn't have been driven by the belts properly thereby causing your light show so it's 99% sure to be fine. Psilosin did a thread when he had the same problem here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/...

Re: yikes, engine noise/lights, where do i start? help!

Well the good (hopefully!) news is those three lights on together mean your alternator isn't charging. The one next to the battery light isn't oil, it's water in the fuel filter. Doesn't mean you have that when all of those three are on however! Strange Mitsubishi quirk. Check the alternator itself,...

Hi Erich, Turns out the problem may be with your email address. Admin may have put a global block on all .net domain names as these are where most of the spamming to hit the site comes from in the U.S. It's being looked at, but if you have a different email which you could use (hotmail etc) then the...
